Pickup Driver

Key responsibilities

• Driving and delivery: Safely operate the pickup truck to transport goods, materials, or staff to designated locations on time.
• Route planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely delivery and observe traffic rules.
• Vehicle maintenance: Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs.
• Loading and unloading: Manually handle and load/unload goods, sometimes requiring assistance for heavier items.
• Paperwork and payments: Prepare and maintain necessary delivery documents, collect payments and cheques, and provide receipts.
• Administrative duties: Assist with administrative tasks, such as office pickups or purchasing materials for the company.
• Safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws during operation.

Candidate requirements

• Valid manual driving license for the appropriate vehicle weight (e.g., 1-ton or 3-ton pickup).
• Relevant experience, often with a preference for local driving experience (e.g., 4 years of UAE experience).
• Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local road networks.
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading.
• Basic communication skills in languages relevant to the region (e.g., English, Hindi, Malayalam).
• Self-motivated and results-driven approach.
