Piling and Shoring Engineer – Job Description
A Piling and Shoring Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and supervising all piling and shoring works on construction sites. The role ensures that foundation and excavation support systems are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret drawings, method statements, and technical specifications
- Plan and supervise piling works (bored piles, driven piles, sheet piles, etc.)
- Design and monitor shoring systems (sheet piling, soldier piles, bracing, anchoring)
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and site regulations
- Coordinate with consultants, project managers, and site teams
- Monitor site progress and prepare daily/weekly reports
- Conduct inspections and ensure quality control of all works
- Troubleshoot site issues related to soil conditions, equipment, or design
- Ensure proper use of materials, equipment, and manpower
- Liaise with surveyors for setting out and alignment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in piling and shoring works
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical and foundation engineering
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and construction standards
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
