Pipe Fitter (Chilled Water Pipe Grooving Operator)

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe Fitter (Chilled Water Pipe Grooving Operator) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and grooving metal pipes to ensure proper installation of mechanical coupling systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cut pipes accurately to the required length and ensure clean, square ends
• Remove burrs from both internal and external pipe surfaces
• Operate electric or hydraulic roll-grooving machines efficiently
• Perform grooving of steel pipes according to project and manufacturer specifications
• Measure groove dimensions (depth and diameter) using appropriate tools
• Inspect joints to ensure proper fitting of gaskets and coupling housings
• Maintain high standards to ensure leak-free and pressure-rated connections
• Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE at all times
• Clean pipe surfaces from rust, paint, and debris before and after grooving

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter or Grooving Machine Operator
• Knowledge of chilled water piping systems and grooved coupling methods (e.g., Victaulic)
• Ability to operate grooving machines (electric/hydraulic)
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as vernier calipers and gauges
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy pipes
• Strong attention to detail and safety

Tools & Equipment Knowledge:

• Roll-grooving machines (electric or hydraulic)
• Pipe cutters and abrasive saws
• Pipe stands/supports
• Measuring instruments (vernier calipers, go/no-go gauges)
• Lubricants for grooves and gaskets
