Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pipe Welder with GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) experience to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating pipe systems, ensuring all work meets strict safety standards and quality specifications. Your expertise in various welding techniques and ability to read blueprints will be instrumental in delivering precision craftsmanship on diverse projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging construction sites, utilizing your technical skills to contribute to impactful infrastructure and manufacturing projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform GMAW welding on various pipe materials, including welding, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate cuts and welds
- Fabricate pipe sections, sheet metal components, and assemblies following ASME codes & standards
- Equipment Set up & Maintenance: Must be able to set up and adjust the Mig welding parameters and maintain tools such as grinders, torches and welding guns.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety guidelines at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience with a strong background in welding, fabrication, and assembly processes
- · Ability to perform essential duties.
· High school diploma or equivalent; completion of technical school is preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years of pipe welding experience.
· Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding weld symbols.
· Attention to detail for creating leak-proof, high pressure welds.
· Successful completion of an internal welding test.
· Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Demonstrated expertise in MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and GMAW welding techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement devices
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to pipe welding and fabrication projects
- Material Preparation: Bevel, clean and fit-up pipes, ensuring accurate alignment and proper root openings before tacking and welding.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and layout work
