Job Summary
We are currently seeking experienced Pipefitters to join our team at our shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in shipyard and craft work, specifically in pipefitting and marine piping systems. Candidates must be safety-focused, dependable, and skilled in reading and interpreting piping schematics and technical drawings. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or has authorization to work in the USA and must successfully complete a written and hands-on skill assessment, drug screening, and background check. Possible day and night shift positions.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, layout, and repair piping systems according to drawings and specifications
- Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using tools such as pipe cutters, torches, and bending machines
- Fit piping components using various connection techniques (e.g., welded, flanged, threaded)
- Test piping systems for leaks and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Follow detailed instructions, schematics, and ship piping diagrams accurately
- Operate power tools and machinery safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet project schedules and deadlines
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, welders, and other trades on the job
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of shipyard experience, including hands-on pipefitting/craft experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the USA
- Must pass a written and hands-on skill test to demonstrate trade proficiency
- Must pass a drug test and background check
- Strong knowledge of marine piping systems, fittings, and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret piping schematics, blueprints, and isometric drawings
- Skilled in using pipe threading machines, cutting tools, torches, and measuring instruments
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and shipyard safety procedures
- Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and physically demanding environments
- Flexibility to work day or night shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed
- High level of attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety and performance
