Salary Range: $85,000 to 100,000/Year

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Piping & Equipment Layout Lead Designer to oversee all aspects of piping design and equipment layout for industrial projects. This role involves leading design activities, developing equipment layouts and 3D models, coordinating across disciplines, and interacting directly with clients. Candidates must have industrial design experience—we do not work on residential, commercial, or retail projects. This is a hybrid position; remote work is not available. Relocation assistance may be offered on a case-by-case basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead piping design and equipment layout for assigned industrial projects.
• Develop detailed piping designs, isometric and orthographic drawings, and equipment stack-ups.
• Supervise and review work performed by junior designers.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering teams and clients.
• Prepare and track piping work-hour estimates and cost estimates.
• Conduct 3D model reviews at key project stages.
• Perform field visits to gather data, verify drawings, and create field sketches.
• Ensure design quality, compliance, and schedule adherence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 15 years of piping design and equipment layout experience in industrial sectors such as Chemical, Polymer, Refining, or Power.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology preferred.
• Experience in consulting engineering environments is desirable.
• Proficient in 3D piping design software; experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks preferred.

Requirements:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• Willing to undergo background check and drug screening post-offer.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to commute to the office at least 3 days per week.
• Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Reliable, punctual, and collaborative in an on-site environment.
