PLACING BOOM OPERATOR

Job Purpose

To operate the concrete placing boom safely and efficiently to place ready-mix concrete at construction sites as per project requirements, while ensuring equipment safety, quality of work, and compliance with company and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the stationary and mobile concrete placing boom as per site requirements
• Position and manoeuvre the boom accurately for safe and efficient concrete placement
• Coordinate with concrete pump operators, transit mixer drivers, and site staff
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and ensure equipment is in safe working condition
• Monitor concrete flow and placement to avoid blockages, spillage, or segregation
• Follow all safety procedures, including wearing PPE and complying with HSE policies
• Identify and report mechanical issues, damages, or unsafe conditions immediately
• Assist maintenance team during minor troubleshooting and cleaning of equipment
• Maintain proper housekeeping around the placing boom area
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer operating instructions
• Complete daily operation checklists and logbooks

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Strictly follow company HSE rules and site safety procedures
• Report near-miss incidents, accidents, and unsafe acts/conditions
• Participate in safety toolbox talks and training sessions
• Ensure safe operation during adverse weather conditions

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Placing Boom Operator
• Valid UAE Heavy Equipment Operator License (if applicable)
• Knowledge of concrete placement techniques and boom operations
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage
• Ability to understand site instructions and safety signs
• Physically fit and able to work long hours and shifts
