Placing Boom Operator

Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation

• Operate the concrete placing boom safely and efficiently during concrete pouring operations.
• Position and maneuver the boom to ensure accurate placement of concrete as directed by site personnel.
• Coordinate with concrete pump operators, site engineers, and supervisors during pouring activities.
• Monitor boom movements to prevent collisions with structures, equipment, and personnel.

Safety Compliance

• Conduct pre-operation inspections of the placing boom and associated equipment.
• Ensure all safety devices, controls, and emergency stop systems are functioning properly.
• Follow company HSE policies and site-specific safety requirements.
• Maintain safe working distances from power lines, cranes, and other site hazards.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment defects immediately.

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform daily cleaning and basic maintenance of the placing boom.
• Check hydraulic systems, hoses, lubrication points, and mechanical components.
• Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with the maintenance team.
• Maintain equipment inspection and maintenance records.

Site Coordination

• Communicate effectively with pump operators, drivers, site supervisors, and construction teams.
• Assist in the setup and dismantling of the placing boom as required.
• Ensure proper stabilization and operation of equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Follow site instructions and pouring sequences to meet project requirements.

Documentation

• Complete daily equipment checklists and operational reports.
• Record operating hours, maintenance activities, and any incidents or breakdowns.
• Ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• High School Certificate or equivalent.
• Valid equipment operator certification/license (where required).
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating concrete placing booms in construction or ready-mix operations.
• Knowledge of concrete pumping and placing techniques.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of placing boom operations and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and follow site plans and instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for routine inspections and maintenance.
• Strong focus on safety and operational efficiency.

Working Conditions

• Work at construction sites under varying weather conditions.
• May be required to work shifts, weekends, and extended hours depending on project requirements.
• Physical fitness required to perform inspections and equipment setup activities.

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month

Experience:

• Readymix : 4 years (Required)
• placing boom : 2 years (Required)
