Position Summary:

  • Planning of job ticket entered and purchasing of raw material for the printing and finishing of labels/flexible packaging products.
  • Purchasing of other materials, supplies, and services as needed

Main Responsibilities:

  • Schedule the job tickets entered on the best available press and references the daily scheduling report from the Intranet.
  • Update daily P.O.’s and the production schedule depending on availability of required materials for job tickets entered. Communicate and co-ordinate with CSR’s regarding any changes.
  • Attend daily scheduling meetings and provides updated information regarding the status of jobs and any issues relating to production requirement.
  • Prepare production schedule for the next 3-4 days (depending on available materials and shipping dates). Coordinate jobs to run with production supervisors/lead hands.
  • Co-ordinate jobs with prepress/CSR/prepress outsource to ensure the schedule is met for on-time delivery to customers.
  • Place material purchase orders each day and meet required supplier processing timelines and set schedule for department.
  • Coordinate with purchasing on daily orders for materials. This will include creating PO’s for stocks, allocating rolls to tickets, requesting inks and coatings as needed and requesting specialty materials or components needed with appropriate departments (ink, onserts, etc.)
  • Generate purchase orders for various material and components required for the office and production and plant supplies for maintenance, quality, sanitation, health and safety and equipment.
  • Provides advance notice on special inks/volumes/onserts.
  • Co-ordinate material with die purchasing/manufacturers required for sharpening e.g. replacement dies, sharpening tools, stocks etc.
  • Check dies in/out. Update logs and LTXX accordingly.
  • Performs any other operations-related work assignment as requested by management.

Experience & Skills:

  • 5 years of similar experience in a printing plant
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in planning/scheduling and purchasing.
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Good influencing skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Able to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
  • Strong planning, organization and co-ordinating skills
  • Good Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Good vision and able to differentiate colours
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities, changing processes and technology
  • Strong understanding of the printing industry and various components (Substrates, inks, adhesives etc.) and materials required for production
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of ERP’s and MIS



Schedule & Compensation

  • Full time, Monday‑Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Starting annual base wage $53,435.20 (depending on experience)
