Planning Engineer

Job Summary

The Planning Engineer is responsible for:

• The efficient and timely preparation of accurate, high-quality project plans and other project controls elements, using the relevant software, including Primavera, for large, complex design projects,
• Strong working knowledge of all relevant architecture, engineering codes / standards, design practices, and drawing practices for complex design projects.

Critical outcomes of this role include; production of accurate, timely and high-quality project schedules and other relevant project controls tools and documents, for complex projects, and coordination of these with all other design disciplines.

The role requires building and maintaining professional relationships with internal stakeholders, other consultants including coordinating with architects, design engineers, Design Team Leads, and project managers to assist with submitting the overall project deliverables packages for concept, schematic, and detailed design stage submissions in line with planned project timelines.

Job Duties

• Plan and implement complex project schedules, using the relevant software, to the required quality and timeline,
• Obtain all data and follow up with project managers, the Design Team Leads, other company staff, other consultants and contractors so that drawings are produced in an accurate, timely manner, to the required quality,
• Establish and build professional relationships with other staff, other Consultants,
• Understands the project brief, and scope of services, and,
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and teams within ECEC and with 3rd parties in relation to technical, safety, quality, schedule and other elements of a project, so that accurate project schedules are produced.

Specifically, the Planning Engineer is responsible for:

1. Implementing and updating specific and overall project schedules, for multiple complex design and construction projects,
2. Work proactively, constructively, and fairly with all parties to ensure the successful execution of duties, and,
3. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualification

• Bachelor degree in architecture, or engineering,
• Qualifications / certification suitable for production of project schedules for large, complex building design projects,
• Specific training & qualifications in Primavera, and other project controls software.

Specific Skills Required

• High level of competence in use of Primavera and other project controls software,
• Good working knowledge of internationally-accepted architecture or engineering, design industry principles and practices / safety / quality systems,
• Good knowledge of current architecture and engineering technology,
• Able to work with minimal supervision, and,
• Good problem solving, numeracy and English literacy skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills,
• Uses diplomacy and tact in discussions with other parties,
• Contributes to team building and enhancing morale across the team / project,
• Promotes equality and recognizes diversity in managing people,
• Understands local and international multi-cultural aspects of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and,
• High level of computer literacy.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of related work experience with architecture or engineering design consultants , is mandatory,
• Extensive experience working with design consultants preparing project schedules and other project controls documents, on large, complex building design projects is a must ,
• Previous experience working on Saudi project will be an advantage.
