We are a leading fire & security systems integrator contractor in Saudi Arabia, seeking to recruit a planning Engineer to work on various Industrial Megaprojects.


·         Primary Responsibilities:

The Planning Engineer develops, manages, and tracks project schedules across multiple projects. This role demands strong organizational skills, project management knowledge, and effective communication with teams and stakeholders. Candidates should be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

1.      Schedule Development and Management:

a.       Develop detailed, realistic, and achievable project schedules in collaboration with project managers and team leaders.

b.       Ensure the integration of project scopes and milestones into a cohesive schedule.

c.        Monitor and update the schedules to reflect actual progress and adjustments due to changes.

2.      Resource Allocation:

a.       Coordinate with different departments and teams to allocate resources effectively and manage any resource constraints.

b.       Track resource usage and identify potential issues or conflicts/overlaps.

3.      Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

a.       Track the progress of individual projects and the overall program to ensure alignment with established timelines and objectives.

b.       Generate and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, including tracking milestones, deliverables, and deadlines.

c.        Identify potential delays or risks and provide corrective actions to maintain the schedule.

4.      Risk Management:

a.       Analyze potential risks related to project timelines and develop mitigation strategies.

b.       Prepare risk reports and work with the program manager to proactively address any schedule-related issues.

5.      Collaboration & Communication:

a.       Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, procurement, construction, etc.) to ensure that schedules are aligned with work activities.

b.       Act as the primary point of contact for all scheduling-related queries and issues.

c.        Facilitate communication between team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

6.      Change Management:

a.       Manage and integrate changes to the project scope, timeline, or resources and update schedules accordingly.

b.       Ensure all changes are documented and communicated effectively.

7.      Tool Management:

a.       Utilize project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools) to develop, track, and analyze schedules.

b.       Maintain up-to-date scheduling data and provide key insights using software tools.

8.      Traveling is expected for 50% of the duty time.


·         Qualifications Required:

  1. Candidates will hold a BSc in Engineering or a Construction Management discipline, or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience as a Planning Engineer, Project Scheduler, or in a similar role in program or project management (is a MUST)
  3. Proficient in Planning tools, Estimation, and reporting for Mega Projects (such as Performance reports, P6 and MS -Projects, Schedules L3 & L4, dashboards, Resources Histogram, S-Curve …...etc.)
  4. Familiar with all International standards in planning.
  5. Any related professional certificates in the planning discipline are a MUST.
  6. Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Primavera P6, MS Project, and Outlook (is a MUST)
  7. A driving license is mandatory.
  8. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, in English (is a MUST) and in Arabic (highly preferred).
  9. Familiarity with cost estimation and budgeting for projects.
