Planning Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support project planning, scheduling, and progress control for construction and oil & gas projects. The ideal candidate must have at least 7 years of relevant experience, strong background in construction/EPC project planning, and hands-on ADNOC project experience with full understanding of ADNOC reporting and project control requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Prepare baseline schedules, manpower histograms, progress S-curves, and project planning deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and identify delays, risks, and resource constraints.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC procedures, guidelines, and reporting formats.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and ADNOC client review.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractor teams to gather progress data.
- Analyze schedule deviations and propose corrective/mitigation actions to maintain project timelines.
- Support project cost control and resource planning activities.
- Assist in preparing recovery schedules, extension of time (EoT) documentation, and claim reports.
- Update and maintain project dashboards and planning documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and present schedule updates and progress status.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of planning experience in the construction/EPC/oil & gas sector.
- Mandatory ADNOC project experience, with full understanding of ADNOC planning and reporting systems.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 (must) and MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of project planning techniques, WBS development, and progress measurement systems.
- Understanding of construction processes, engineering workflows, and project lifecycle.
