Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Planning Engineer to lead planning, scheduling, execution monitoring, and cost control activities for large-scale construction projects. The role involves close coordination with site, project, and management teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery in compliance with PWD standards.
Experience Requirement
· Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
· Proven track record of handling infrastructure or road projects will be an added advantage
Educational Qualification
· BTech or M Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution
Technical & Software Skills
· Proficiency in MS Project (MSP) or P6
· Strong knowledge of project scheduling, resource loading, and baseline management
· Good understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
· Develop detailed project schedules, work breakdown structures, and timelines
· Establish project baselines and monitor progress against approved schedules
· Prepare look-ahead plans, weekly and monthly schedules
Project Execution & Monitoring
· Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and contractors for smooth execution
· Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress and identify potential delays
· Recommend corrective and preventive measures to mitigate risks
Cost Control & Budget Management
· Monitor project costs and budgets to ensure financial control
· Track variations, claims, and cost overruns
· Support management in forecasting project cash flow and cost performance
Reporting & Documentation
· Prepare detailed progress reports, MIS reports, and dashboards
· Present schedule and cost status to management and stakeholders
· Maintain proper planning and project documentation as per company standards
Coordination & Compliance
· Ensure project execution aligns with PWD specifications and contractual requirements
· Coordinate with billing, procurement, and quality teams
· Support audits, reviews, and internal assessments
