Planning Engineer (Infra WWTP)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and maintain detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 in coordination with project teams.
  • Prepare cost-loaded and resource-loaded programmes, including manpower and equipment histograms.
  • Monitor project progress against approved baselines and identify critical path activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, S-curves, and earned value reports.
  • Conduct schedule updates, variance analysis, and recovery plans to mitigate delays.
  • Prepare delay analysis and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, including impacted and window analysis where required.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment of activities and material availability.
  • Support project management in progress meetings with the Client and Consultant
  • Prepare planning narratives, KPI reports, and other contractual planning documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines, contractual requirements, and company standards.

Project Exposure (Preferred)

  • Infrastructure and utilities projects including:
  • Waste Water Treatment Plant, sewerage, stormwater, potable water
  • Electrical and substation works
  • Roadworks and utility interfacing
  • District cooling networks (CHW piping, utility corridors)
  • Experience working under government entities or semi-government clients in Abu Dhabi is an advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Excellent working knowledge of:
  • Baseline programme development
  • Progress measurement and reporting
  • Delay analysis & EOT preparation
  • Resource and cost loading
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and reporting tools
  • Good understanding of infrastructure sequencing and utility coordination
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the UAE or GCC
  • Proven experience on infrastructure, utilities, or district cooling projects

Desired candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Construction, Mechanical, or related discipline)
  • Certifications or formal training in Planning / Project Management are an advantage
