Job Description: Planning Engineer – Marine Projects (Iraq)
Shafa Al Nahdah Building Contracting LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to support ongoing marine and infrastructure projects in Iraq. The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and delay analysis within marine construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Prepare baseline programs in coordination with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with approved timelines and project milestones.
- Identify delays, analyze schedule impacts, and recommend corrective and recovery measures.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports to management and clients.
- Conduct delay analysis and assist in the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims when required.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure schedule compliance.
- Track manpower deployment, equipment utilization, material delivery schedules, and construction sequencing.
- Monitor marine activities including dredging, quay walls, jetties, breakwaters, piling works, revetments, and associated infrastructure works.
- Participate in client meetings and progress review discussions.
- Maintain accurate planning records and documentation in compliance with contractual requirements.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Strong understanding of marine construction methodologies and sequencing.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 (Mandatory) and MS Project.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents accurately.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple project activities and deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of delay analysis techniques and claims preparation is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marine projects such as ports, jetties, quay walls, breakwaters, dredging, piling, and coastal infrastructure works.
- Previous experience in Middle East projects is preferred.
- Strong understanding of project controls, contractual requirements, and planning practices.
- Experience with FIDIC contracts will be an added advantage.
Pay: From AED15,000.00 per month
