Job Summary:

The Civil Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling construction project timelines to ensure efficient execution and completion. The role requires strong analytical abilities, proficiency in project management tools, and the capability to coordinate with site teams, consultants, and management.

Key Responsibilities:1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare detailed project schedules using Primavera (P6) and MS Project.
  • Develop baseline schedules and update them regularly based on project progress.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Plan manpower, materials, machinery, and resource requirements.
  • Track critical activities and identify delays with mitigation measures.

2. Monitoring & Progress Control

  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules and highlight deviations.
  • Conduct site visits to gather actual progress data.
  • Prepare recovery plans when delays occur and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with site team, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure schedule alignment.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare S-curve, bar charts, histogram, and other planning deliverables.
  • Assist in preparation of project reports, presentations, and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain project records, logs, and documentation.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Attend progress meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Communicate project schedule issues clearly to project managers and site engineers.
  • Support the tendering team with project planning inputs when required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3–7 years experience in planning within the construction industry (UAE experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
  • Good knowledge of contractual terms (FIDIC preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple deadlines.
