The Planning Leader facilitates manufacturing operations by creating, maintaining, and updating daily production schedules to meet customer demands. Key responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, coordinating with departments to resolve bottlenecks, and expediting orders to ensure on-time delivery. They work closely with supervisors to adjust schedules based on labor/material availability.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Schedule Development: Create daily/weekly production schedules and work orders.
- Execution & Expediting: Monitor production progress and expedite orders to meet shipping schedules.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with supervisors to adjust for material shortages, labor issues, or design changes.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between customer service, shipping, and production teams to report status updates.
- Inventory Control: Review inventory levels to ensure necessary materials are available for production.
- Reporting: Compile, analyze, and submit reports on production rates, performance, and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business is preferred.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in production planning or manufacturing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks quickly
- Requires working in a fast-paced environment, in a manufacturing plant setting.
