Job Summary

The Planning Manager is responsible for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and progress control to ensure construction projects in Dubai are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with contractual requirements. The role involves close coordination with project teams, consultants, and clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain baseline project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Prepare master programs, detailed construction schedules, and recovery plans
  • Review contractor and subcontractor schedules for compliance with contract requirements
  • Ensure alignment of planning with construction methodology

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against the approved baseline
  • Prepare progress reports, S-curves, manpower histograms, and dashboards
  • Analyze delays and recommend mitigation and acceleration measures
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis and forecasting

Delay Analysis & Claims Support

  • Perform delay analysis (EOT claims) using accepted methodologies
  • Provide planning support for contractual claims and variations
  • Maintain accurate records for forensic planning and dispute resolution

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with Project Manager, Construction Managers, QS, and Engineers
  • Attend progress meetings with clients and consultants
  • Ensure subcontractor schedules are integrated into the master program

Resource & Cost Planning

  • Prepare and monitor resource-loaded schedules
  • Coordinate with commercial team on cash flow forecasts
  • Optimize sequencing to improve productivity and reduce risks

Compliance & Systems

  • Ensure planning procedures comply with FIDIC contracts and Dubai standards
  • Maintain planning systems and ensure data accuracy
  • Support audits and management reviews

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management
  • 8–15+ years of construction planning experience
  • Minimum 5+ years in UAE preferred
  • Strong experience with high-rise building projects
  • Expert user of Primavera P6 (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of FIDIC contracts
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and leadership skills
