Planning & Permitting Assistant

The Permitting and Planning Assistant serves as the Town’s primary administrative support for planning, zoning, and permitting activities while also providing executive administrative support to the Town Administrator. This position manages the daily operation of the Town’s permitting system (MyGovernmentOnline/MGO), including application intake, project setup, workflow tracking, record maintenance, and customer service.

The position also performs accounts receivable functions for municipal activities, including billing, collection, tracking, and reporting of revenues in coordination with the Clerk/Treasurer. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion with financial information, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities are essential.

· Planning and Permitting Administration

a. Administer and maintain the MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) system

b. Review, process, and track permit applications and workflows

c. Coordinate plan reviews and maintain accurate permit records

d. Provide customer service and assist applicants through the permitting process

· Accounts Receivable & Municipal Financial Administration

a. Process payments and maintain accurate financial records

b. Prepare and track invoices, fees, and collections

c. Ensure required payments are received prior to approvals

d. Assist with reporting, reconciliation, and audit support.

· Assistant to the Town Administrator

a. Provide administrative support, including scheduling, correspondence, and records management

b. Assist with projects, research, and planning/zoning documentation

c. Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
