Plant Accounting Manager Davenport

Position Summary
The Plant Accounting Manager is a key member of the Fair Oaks Foods Finance team, responsible for overseeing all financial activities at the Davenport facility. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Operating within an SAP ERP environment, the Plant Accounting Manager partners with plant management to drive operational performance, cost efficiency, and profitability while providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for all plant related accounting and financial reporting matters
  • Monitor and analyze variances in production, labor and overhead, recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations
  • Partner up with Plant Manager and operations leadership to develop and track operational KPIs such as productivity, yields, labor efficiency, and overhead control
  • Act as a liaison between plant and corporate finance for OnBase, T&E, corporate card program and other initiatives
  • Support the preparation of the plant annual plan, CapEx, and variance analysis
  • Review actual performance against plan, identifying risks, opportunities, and recommending actions
  • Assist with the determination and completion of customer pricing forecast and true ups
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, packaging, labor, and overhead
  • Review and validate process order reporting, yield analysis, scrap, and rework costs
  • Ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventories; lead monthly cycle counts and annual physical inventory
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of production orders, goods issues, and goods receipts
  • Provide financial insights for continuous improvement initiatives, capacity planning, and capital investment projects
  • Evaluate cost-saving opportunities, process efficiencies, and continuous improvement project
  • Collaborate with the corporate finance and IT teams to optimize SAP reports, workflows, and automation
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement for the plant

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or another related field required.
  • 5 + years of progressive accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Food industry experience preferred
  • Manufacturing or meat industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Hands on working knowledge of SAP required
  • Advanced excel skills and financial modeling capabilities
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Must be able to lift 50lb and must have knowledge of computers and be proficient in word and Excel.
