JOB OVERVIEW:

The Plant Engineer takes responsibility for identifying, planning, coordinating, and implementing process improvement activities. Continuous improvement projects will focus primarily on production, efficiency, safety, and quality. The Plant Engineer will work hand-in-hand with other Plant Engineers, Plant Maintenance Department, Production Team, Plant Controller, Plant Safety Coordinator, Engineering and Technology Department and the broader team, as appropriate, to identify proactive ways to improve the sites process. This position requires exceptional technical curiosity, organizational and detail skills, a problem-solving approach, and a firm grasp of the production process as well as the ability to work closely with production employees to understand and improve the way we control our process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the plant, technical, and business teams to ideate, justify, prioritize, and execute measurable continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Cost, and Customer Service.
  • Provide monthly updates of continuous improvement progress, both successes and hurdles.
  • Improve performance of current production and position plant for future opportunities through the advancement of process control through new equipment, materials, and techniques.
  • Work with plant and business leadership to create, prioritize, and drive the plant process improvement strategy, including the short and medium-term project execution.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance team to ensure equipment maintenance meets need of process strategy.
  • Ensure all new or modified equipment meets the proper safety and quality standards. Collaborate with the Safety and Quality Departments for management of change.
  • Technical liaison for process improvement.
  • Serve as a member of the emergency response team.

JOB EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of process experience improvement preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Project management skills.
  • Developed listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and detail skills.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Must be a problem-solver who uses good judgement.
  • AutoCAD, Project Management Software skills
  • Must be tech savvy and a quick learner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

  • Expected Pay Range: $94,100 - $104,000
  • Bonus: This role may further qualify for supplemental compensation in the form of bonus and incentive programs, contingent upon achieving pre-established individual and company performance metrics.
