Key Responsibilities 1. coordinate construction, installation, and commissioning of plant utilities and process equipment (HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, purified water, steam, etc.).
- Review and approve vendor drawings, GA layouts, and equipment technical documents.
- Ensure installation work aligns with design intent, URS, and cGMP/Schedule M requirements.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, instrumentation, and validation teams for integrated project delivery.
- Manage timelines, contractors, and vendors to achieve scheduled milestones.
2. Utilities & Mechanical Systems
- Oversee the design, sizing, and installation of systems such as:
- HVAC: AHUs, ducting, filters, insulation, VFDs, and controls.
- Water Systems: Purified water, soft water, RO/UF/UV loops, storage and distribution.
- Thermal Systems: Boilers, hot water generators, and steam condensate recovery systems.
- Compressed Air: Screw compressors, dryers, receivers, and pipeline networks.
- Chillers and Cooling Systems: Energy-efficient chillers, pumps, and piping networks.
- Maintain as-built documentation, P&IDs, and layout drawings.
3. Electrical & Instrumentation
- Support installation and validation of power distribution systems, MCC panels, VFDs, DBs, and earthing layouts.
- Coordinate with automation and IT/OT integration teams for PLC, SCADA, and control systems.
- Ensure system interlocks, alarms, and safety compliance during commissioning.
4. Validation & Compliance
- Participate in IQ/OQ/PQ activities for equipment and utilities.
- Support QA in preparation of engineering and qualification documentation.
- Maintain records of calibration, maintenance, and validation schedules.
- Ensure all engineering systems adhere to GMP, ISO, and safety standards.
5. Maintenance & Operational Handover
- Plan preventive maintenance schedules for plant utilities and mechanical systems.
- Train operations staff in safe handling and basic troubleshooting.
- Develop SOPs for equipment operation and maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing plant engineering, preferably in a greenfield or expansion project.
- Knowledge Areas:
- Utility system design and commissioning.
- HVAC balancing and qualification.
- Electrical load distribution and energy efficiency.
- cGMP, Schedule M, WHO/EU GMP requirements.
- Project documentation and vendor management.
