Applied LNG (dba Midlothian LNG) has an immediate opening for Plant Engineer/Process Engineer with Master’s or equivalent in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related field and experience in design, construction, commissioning and operation of petrochemical plant preferably liquefied natural gas plant and loadout system. Engineer in training (EIT) certification and appropriate valid certification from Texas Railroad Commission strongly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Handling engineering and technical aspects of natural gas operations and projects, with special emphasis on liquefied natural gas (LNG) production, storage and loadout and natural gas compression systems;
· Providing process engineering support for the system design, operation, and implementation to increase plant efficiency, reliability, operability and safety of operations and projects;
· Troubleshooting problems with the plant operation and assist with the daily production operations;
· Collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on all production and service data;
· Developing operations and maintenance (O&M) procedures and safety requirements in accordance with applicable regulations/codes;
· Evaluating equipment from an engineering and operations perspective and make recommendations for selection and utilization;
· Continuously educating and coaching operations personnel and new employees in operating techniques to improve their understanding of the process;
· Coordinating the transition/scale-up of new development projects into plant production;
· Designing systems and associated site layouts using vendor‐supplied equipment to meet customer and our requirements and specifications;
· Overseeing contractors and technicians responsible for conducting project tasks;
· Track activities to ensure completion and compliance with applicable regulations/codes;
· Reviewing process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and other design drawings and datasheets for accuracy and compliance and provide optimization suggestions as required;
· Interfacing and cooperating effectively with plant personnel as well as customers, site representatives, inspectors, local authorities, and others involved with operations and projects and performing Process Safety Management tasks
· Periodic travel in performance of job duties and responsibilities
Education, Experience and Certifications:
· Master’s or equivalent in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related field and
· Experience in design, construction, commissioning and operation of petrochemical plant preferably liquefied natural gas plant and loadout system
· Engineer in training (EIT) certification
· Valid certification from Texas Railroad Commission strongly preferred
· Understanding or experience with various technical codes & standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, NFPA, API).
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. The ability to communicate effectively with multiple project stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
