Role & Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance of plant machinery including CNC machines, PLC systems, SPMs, automated machining lines, conveyors, conventional machines, and industrial robots.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and possess strong knowledge of machine elements such as guideways, spindles, tool/work changers, and mechanical drive systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in pneumatic and hydraulic systems, spindles, and other mechanical assemblies.
- Execute lubrication routines and ensure optimal performance of mechanical components.
- Carry out predictive and preventive maintenance activities across manufacturing equipment.
- Collect and analyze daily machine data to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain awareness and adherence to ISO, OHSAS, and Maintenance Management Systems.
- Monitor key maintenance KPIs including Availability, MTBF, and MTTR.
- Contribute to TPM initiatives and actively participate in Kaizen, 5S, continuous improvement, and cost-saving projects.

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 10–15 years of experience in machine maintenance

- Experience in defense or explosives manufacturing environments
Relevant Experience:

- Hands-on experience in maintaining plant machinery
- Daily and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems
- Inspection and troubleshooting of pneumatic and hydraulic machines
- Knowledge of lubrication systems, bearings, guideways, ball screws, and mechanical drives

Overview
A Plant Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all mechanical, electrical, and utility systems within a manufacturing or industrial facility. The role involves maintenance planning, troubleshooting equipment issues, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities1. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Perform and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, compressors, HVAC, boilers, etc.).
- Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Optimize machine reliability and reduce downtime through engineering improvements.
2. Maintenance Planning
- Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment histories.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to minimize operational disruptions.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety and regulatory requirements.
3. Technical Support
- Provide engineering support for equipment modifications, upgrades, and installations.
- Write technical documentation, such as SOPs, job plans, and maintenance procedures.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
4. Project Management
- Lead maintenance-related capital projects, including scoping, budgeting, and execution.
- Manage contractor activities and ensure compliance with plant safety policies.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all equipment meets OSHA and industry safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives.
- Participate in incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Implement lean manufacturing, TPM, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices.
- Analyze maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, downtime, etc.) to drive improvement.
- Support cost-saving initiatives related to energy efficiency and equipment optimization.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, and schematics
- Familiarity with PLCs and automation technologies (desired)
