As one of the premier manufacturers in the Lake of the Ozarks region, Duratek Manufacturing relies on a talented and committed workforce that is energized by building world-class boat lifts. We’re currently seeking a plant manager to oversee the production, maintenance, quality assurance and employee safety functions of our plant in Camdenton, MO. This proven leader will coordinate the plant’s manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with company production objectives, quality systems, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally detail oriented and able to lead a team, serving as liaison between our plant employees, scheduling personnel, and upper management. This person must be dedicated to achieving operational excellence and have a genuine interest in helping the company succeed.

Objectives of this role

· Identify and implement strategic improvements for production, shipping, quality, employee safety, and labor utilization throughout the facility.

· Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment.

· Collaborate with management, company ownership and team members in the implementation of value-added process improvements.

· Investigate and implement innovative manufacturing processes to reduce costs and ensure product quality and shipping accuracy.

· Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles in designing, specifying, and validating world-class manufacturing processes that achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

· Ensure that the plant’s safety practices and standards meet or exceed all regulatory and insurance requirements.

· Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production, machinery, welding, and shipping departments.

· Supervise all operations on a day-to-day basis.

· Oversee the shipping and receiving department to help the department achieve its goal of completely accurate shipments of lift kits to customers packaged in a safe and efficient manner.

· Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with the MRP schedule as set forth by the company’s planning supervisor.

· Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives.

· Manage cost structures for manufacturing by keeping operational expenses within budget allowance, maintaining inventory levels at an appropriate level, and investigate cost-reduction measures.

· Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed.

· Lead regularly scheduled production meetings with production staff to facilitate good communication of production standards and schedules among the team.

Required skills and qualifications

· Ten or more years of experience in plant operations or engineering with a working knowledge of welding, forklift operation, and modern automated production machinery.

· Proven skills in leadership and supervision

· Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing principles

Preferred skills and qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business, engineering, or related field

· Experience in plant operations will be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
