Plant Manager

Position: Plant Manager

Location : Marathon, Wisconsin

Grade: Salary

Responsibilities and Duties

• Ensure the safety and security of people and facilities
• Lead by example to establish and maintain strong safety culture
• Own safety monitoring through regular safety walks, injury reporting and near-miss communication
• Manage manufacturing operations across a team of 200 employees and multiple facilities in Marathon and Wausau, Wisconsin
• Formulate and implement short and long-term plans aligned with company objectives
• Partner with Sr. Manager Production Planning to coordinate work hours and scheduling needs
• Develop, lead, and monitor the cohesiveness and effectiveness of plant leadership team
• Monitor operations to ensure quality products are delivered to both internal and external customers
• Monitor and analyze production metrics to work towards continuous improvement
• Monitor and improve production efficiency
• Use KPI systems to make data-driven production and staffing decisions
• Implement Lean manufacturing principles
• Collaborate effectively with Human Resources to develop hiring pipeline
• Monitor staffing needs across facilities
• Organizing hiring and interviewing processes
• Build talent pipeline through employee training, development and retention efforts
• Onboard and train new employees and supervisors
• Contribute to a strong culture aligned with company values
• Shift work schedule according to production needs, making sure to spend time where needed across three shifts and three locations
• Travel requirements as needed (less than 10%)

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Desire to learn
• Ability to analyze employee inputs and identify areas with need for growth
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook
• Preferred – Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma
• Preferred- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system
• Preferred - Bachelors in Business Management, Engineering, or similar
• 5 years manufacturing management experience
