Plant Reliability Mechanic — Controls, Hydraulics & Refrigeration

Are you the go‑to troubleshooter on the floor?

Do you hear a bearing before it fails? Can you trace a fault from an HMI to a breaker panel without breaking stride? Our Baltimore plant is expanding with new machinery, and we’re looking for a reliability‑minded mechanic to keep food‑processing lines running at their best.

Your mission

Use your technical judgment and problem‑solving talent to find issues fast, fix them right, and prevent their return—all while safeguarding people and product quality.

  • Conduct visual inspections to spot breakage, excessive wear, and other defects.
  • Repair production/processing equipment and return systems to peak performance.
  • Leverage strong controls experience to troubleshoot and repair modern automated equipment.
  • Analyze complex failures; implement safe, compliant remedies that last.
  • Listen for abnormal machine sounds to detect malfunctions early.
  • Partner with maintenance technicians and engineering to accelerate issue resolution.
  • Dismantle defective machines; install new or repaired components.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and critical moving parts.
  • Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus: transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components.
  • Repair/replace elements of equipment structure and frames.
  • Operate cutting torches and welding equipment for metal cutting/joining.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to drive uptime and reliability.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to plan and execute work.
  • Work independently; stay self‑directed and accountable.
  • Engage with Material Handling Equipment as part of daily operations.

Where you’ll work

  • Fast‑paced production floor around industrial machinery.
  • Refrigerated/cold storage rooms at approximately 32°F (with certain areas colder); sustain extended exposure to low temperatures.
  • Physical activity throughout the shift: frequent pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, reaching with both arms; ability to bend, twist, and squat as needed.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs without reasonable assistance.
