Plant Superintendent – Expat Position (Gold Process Plant-Located in Liberia)

We are seeking an experienced Plant Superintendent to lead and oversee all operations of the gold process plant at our New Liberty Gold Mine in Liberia . This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant plant performance, contributing directly to the long-term sustainability and success of the operation.

This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in:

• Chemical Engineering
• Mineral Processing Engineering
• Metallurgical Engineering / Extractive Metallurgy
• Mining Engineering (with proven experience in mineral processing operations)
• A master’s degree is an asset.

Experience & Technical Skills

• 10–15 years of experience in gold processing or mineral processing operations (CIL required),
• Strong competency in safety leadership (risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID, hazard identification),
• Strong safety culture leadership and continuous improvement,
• Expertise in commissioning and start-up troubleshooting,
• Knowledge of crushers, mills, Vertimill, gravity, ILR, peroxidation, CIL, AARL elution, detox/INCO, TSF,
• Strong understanding of P&IDs, flowsheets, design criteria, equipment specifications,
• Experience in international mining operations and remote camp environments,
• Strong leadership, communication, attention to detail, multicultural adaptability,
• Advanced English; valid driver’s license; willingness to work on rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all HSE and gold security practices across the gold process plant,
• Provide technical and administrative leadership to plant teams,
• Ensure operational performance across crushing, milling, gravity, leaching, carbon handling, elution, detox/INCO, TSF,
• Develop and enforce SOPs, operational controls, housekeeping, environmental standards,
• Coordinate with ROM pad, stockpiles, gold room, TSF, lab, maintenance, contractors,
• Lead shutdowns, relining, major maintenance planning,
• Oversee carbon management and gold production targets,
• Manage CAPEX/OPEX budgets, procurement, critical spares, vendor relations,
• Manage workforce planning, scheduling, training, performance evaluation.
