Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Plant Technician to join our renewables team at Danos. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day labor services of any given project of the plant, including performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, vegetation management, wire management or other labor support. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy and grow within a fast-paced and rapidly expanding industry.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections of solar PV systems, inverters, trackers, and other balance-of-plant equipment on a project basis.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and site procedures.
  • Support troubleshooting of underperforming systems and components with guidance from senior technicians.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the project site, equipment, and tools.
  • Follow safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and participate in regular safety briefings and training.
  • Assist in vegetation management and general grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and site leadership to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Understand technical use of cell phones and computers, including emails, text, calls, and use of Microsoft office suite.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude preferred (experience with tools and maintenance tasks)
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Technical training, vocational certificate, or associate degree in renewable energy, electrical, or mechanical field
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Basic understanding of solar PV systems or prior experience in electrical, mechanical, or construction trades
  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and walk on uneven terrain.
  • May involve occasional travel between sites or states.
  • Regular exposure to electrical equipment and moving mechanical parts.
