Plasma Operator

Position Title: Plasma Operator

Classification: Non-exempt

Reports To: Plant Superintendent

Summary:

Using Plasma machine, Operator cuts all of the web shapes for the manufactured beams.

Essential Functions:

• Using Sigma Nest software Opertor nests webs on the correct size raw material sheets gaining the most efficient use of the sheet.
• Programs sheets
• Operator uses Plasma cutting machine to produce webs.
• Operator keeps track of all raw material used on a project number and uses scan gun to maintain allocated material to the correct job for inventory control and material traceability.
• Uses crane to load and unload Plasma machine.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess 1 – 2 years of basic experience in a manufacturing environment. Should possess basic computer knowledge.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must possess an understanding of shop math, blue print reading, welding symbols, beam assembly, general welding knowledge and general shop practice. Must have excellent attention to detail and should be focused and accurately understand quality assurance requirements.

N/A

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment. Noise volume varies from loud to normal.

Sitting – 25%

Walking – 25%

Standing – 50%
