Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plasma Table Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plasma cutting machines to produce precise metal components. Your expertise in CNC laser cutting, programming, and fabrication will ensure high-quality outputs that meet strict specifications. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate plasma cutting tables, ensuring accurate alignment and calibration for each job.
- Program CNC laser cutting machines using CAD/CAM software to produce complex metal parts with precision.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to guide fabrication.
- Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machinery, including plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, lathes, press brakes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining equipment.
- Perform quality inspections utilizing micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify dimensions and surface finishes meet specifications.
- Use hand tools, tooling, cranes, forklifts, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently during production.
- Ensure proper handling of sheet metal and other materials while adhering to safety protocols and manufacturing standards.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, supporting overall production flow.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as plasma tables, laser cutters, milling machines, lathes, or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on complex machinery.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, basic math calculations, and interpreting technical drawings with GD&T standards.
- Familiarity with welding techniques and fabrication processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, sheet metal handling, quality inspection procedures, and the use of precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on machining or fabrication is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely; certification is preferred but not mandatory.
