Omega Tool Inc. is seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to join our team in Menomonee Falls, WI.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for a technical plastics professional to work within our plastic injection department (3 presses: 110 to 635 tons). As a leading mold builder, initially, 90% of the job will be focused on new tool trials as we expand our production services. We are looking for a high-energy individual with a desire to achieve high standards of precision manufacturing.

Job description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Responsible for developing and optimizing injection molding processes to ensure high-quality, efficient production of plastic parts. This involves designing and implementing manufacturing processes, overseeing equipment performance, and collaborating with various teams to improve product design and troubleshoot mold-related issues. Must maintain good manufacturing practices including maintaining accurate and timely documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develop and Optimize Processes: Establish and implement injection molding processes, including setting up molds, machines, and auxiliary equipment. Define process parameters, optimize cycle times, and improve material flow using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

· Execute Tool Trials: Perform new mold trials, troubleshoot new or existing mold issues, and ensure optimal mold performance and capability.

· Troubleshoot and Improve: Provide timely resolution for product, process, and equipment problems. Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and optimize existing processes.

· Ensure Quality: Establish and maintain process control plans, document procedures, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

· Collaborate and Train: Work with design engineers, quality control, and maintenance teams. Provide guidance and training to technicians and operators on best practices for injection molding.

· Maintain Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of mold processes, capabilities, testing, and production runs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a clean, thorough approach to work

· Self-motivated team player who can multitask in a fast-paced environment.

· RJG Injection Mold Training is a significant plus.

· Strong understanding of various thermoplastic resins and their properties

· Good understanding of auxiliary equipment (chiller units, resin dryers, hot runner controllers, blenders, granulators, etc.).
