PLC / Automation Technician

DAIM Pak is an established and growing manufacturer of aluminium ROPP closures supplying the beverage, food and pharmaceutical industries in Pakistan and international export markets. Our factory operates high-speed production lines including aluminium presses, lining machines, inspection systems, and automated packing lines.

Position Summary

We are looking for a PLC / Automation Technician to support and maintain automation systems across our manufacturing operations. The role is hands-on and factory-based, focusing on troubleshooting, automation support, and continuous improvement of machine control systems.

You will work closely with the Electrical Engineer and production team to ensure smooth machine operation, minimize downtime, and improve automation reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform PLC fault finding and troubleshooting on production machines
  • Understand and interpret PLC logic, ladder diagrams, and control sequences
  • Support machine automation systems, including interlocks, sensors, actuators, and safety systems
  • Assist with minor PLC program modifications when required (under supervision or guidance)
  • Collaborate with the Electrical Engineer on automation upgrades and process improvements
  • Diagnose and resolve automation-related breakdowns on the shop floor
  • Support commissioning and testing of automation components
  • Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards
  • Maintain basic documentation related to automation changes and issues

Required Experience & Skills

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a PLC / Automation Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Practical experience in fault finding, not only PLC programming
  • Strong understanding of:
  • PLC logic and control systems
  • Industrial sensors, motors, VFDs, relays, and interlocks
  • Electrical control panels and machine automation
  • Ability to work independently on the shop floor
  • Good coordination skills and ability to work with engineers and technicians
  • Basic understanding of industrial safety practices

(Experience with common PLC platforms such as Siemens, Delta, Allen-Bradley, or similar is an advantage)
