Job Overview
A Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential and commercial properties. This includes water supply lines, drainage systems, fixtures, and related equipment. The Plumber ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local plumbing codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, drains, and sewage systems
- Diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on plumbing systems
- Repair or replace defective plumbing components such as valves, pumps, faucets, and piping
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and plumbing diagrams
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local plumbing codes
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper functionality
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Provide excellent customer service and explain plumbing issues, repair recommendations, and available solutions to clients
- Provide customers with plumbing solutions and recommendations based on system needs and performance
- Respond to emergency plumbing service calls as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a plumber or similar role
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments
- Valid driver’s license
- Journeyman or Master Plumber license preferred
Preferred Certifications
- State or local plumbing license as required
Working Conditions
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- May involve working at heights, underground, or in confined spaces
- Requires use of hand and power tools
- May require on-call, evening, or weekend shifts depending on employer needs
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
