Position Overview

As a Plumbing Foreman, you will lead field operations, oversee installation quality, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role is ideal for a confident, organized leader who can manage projects of varying size and complexity while developing and supporting their team.

Typically, this position requires 10 to 12 years of experience, with a Master Plumber License preferred.

What You’ll Do

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate plumbing crews
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
  • Promote growth and skill development across team members
  • Maintain strong, respectful working relationships

Planning and Execution

  • Plan and organize work to meet project schedules and milestones
  • Coordinate manpower needs with Project Managers and Lead Mechanics
  • Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and used efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and productive job site

Technical Expertise and Quality

  • Oversee all aspects of plumbing installation and workmanship
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds applicable codes and trade standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
  • Maintain accurate documentation including change orders and as-built drawings

Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices at all times
  • Conduct safety meetings and address jobsite hazards proactively
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and escalate when needed

Problem Solving and Decision Making

  • Identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Develop practical solutions and make sound field decisions
  • Recognize when to escalate complex issues for additional support

Communication and Coordination

  • Communicate clearly with crews, project leadership, and other trades
  • Delegate tasks effectively and follow up to ensure quality completion
  • Coordinate work with other teams on multi-trade job sites
  • Represent Southern Air with professionalism and integrity

What We’re Looking For

  • 10 to 12 years of plumbing experience in commercial or residential construction
  • Master Plumber License preferred
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen and background checks

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on leadership role in a construction environment and may include:

  • Frequent standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Driving between job sites, including occasional extended travel
  • Exposure to construction materials, tools, and equipment
