BSA is seeking a passionate and talented Plumbing Designer to join our dynamic St. Louis studio, where your technical expertise will contribute to creating environments that foster healing, learning, and discovery.

What You’ll Do:

At BSA, we are looking for a Plumbing Designer to collaborate with engineers and a multidisciplinary team on impactful projects within the Healing, Learning, or Discovery markets. In this role, you will support engineering leadership while leading the planning, design, and documentation of plumbing systems across all phases of design and construction.

You will assist with client engagement by attending client, consultant, and design committee meetings, presenting design solutions, and coordinating closely with other disciplines and consultants. You’ll be responsible for developing high-quality project documents, preparing working drawings, and recommending design improvements to enhance quality and performance.

This role may include managing small teams, mentoring and training other designers, and providing leadership through project work to support professional growth. You’ll participate in project debriefs and lessons learned sessions to drive continuous improvement and may own small projects in their entirety or significant portions of larger projects related to project delivery. Meeting deadlines, managing personal utilization, and supporting project budgets are key components of this role.

If you thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about delivering thoughtful, well-coordinated building systems, we’d love to hear from you!

Education and Experience:

  • Educational Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: 5–10+ years of related plumbing design experience preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Experience preparing construction documents, coordinating across disciplines, and participating in all design and construction phases of projects. Experience in healthcare, higher education, and/or science & technology project types is a plus.
