WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The Plumbing Engineer / Designer role provides foundational experience in the application of design standards, use of industry software tools, and coordination of technical disciplines within the built environment and is intended to be filled by a college graduate with 2-4 years’ experience. The Plumbing Engineer / Designer will be responsible for completing day-to-day tasks for the design and engineering of Plumbing systems for offices, kitchens, toilet rooms, locker rooms, warehouses, laboratories, manufacturing areas, and clean rooms.
Assist in performing field surveys, prepare engineering calculations, size piping distribution systems, select plumbing fixtures, perform drafting and electronic drawing preparation, and conduct code and energy studies.
Use AutoCAD and REVIT, become familiar with computerized calculation and energy software, and become competent with MS-Excel, MS-Word, and Blue Beam.
Under the direction of senior engineering staff, leverage plumbing codes, CAD software, and engineering principles to adapt plans for budget, design factors, and client needs throughout the project life cycle.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in all phases of project development, including drafting, calculations, and preparation of construction documentation under the direction of senior engineering staff.
Minimum Qualifications
2-4 years of relevant experience, inclusive of relevant co-op or internship experience.
Competence in AutoCAD and REVIT, and Blue Beam software
Proficiency with MS Office
A knack for and interest in solving complex engineering problems
Team orientation and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution preferred
Experience with Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Science, and Laboratory industries
An interest in high-profile, technically challenging work
Competencies:
