Position Overview

As a Pipefitter Lead / Foreman, you will oversee the installation, fabrication, and repair of piping systems on commercial and industrial job sites. You will lead field crews, coordinate daily work activities, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced construction environment.

What You’ll Do

Leadership and Project Oversight

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily pipefitting activities
  • Lead crews and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule
  • Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and maintain workflow efficiency
  • Serve as the on-site leader and primary point of contact for your team

Technical Execution

  • Install, fabricate, and repair piping systems in commercial applications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and P&ID schematics
  • Perform and oversee large-bore pipe installation and welding as needed
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, codes, and quality standards

Materials, Tools, and Coordination

  • Assist with material takeoffs and verify tools and supplies are available
  • Coordinate workflow and sequencing with other trades on site
  • Maintain jobsite organization and efficiency

Safety and Quality

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies at all times
  • Conduct regular quality checks and resolve issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite

Communication and Team Development

  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers, contractors, and clients
  • Mentor and train junior team members
  • Promote a positive, professional jobsite culture

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 or more years of pipefitting experience

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in the field

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and P&ID schematics

  • Experience with large-bore weld pipe installation and preparation

  • Deep knowledge of fitting take-outs for threaded and welded systems

  • Experience working with:

    • Carbon steel piping
    • Stainless steel piping and tubing
    • PVC and copper systems
    • Welded piping systems
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Must have required hand tools for the trade

  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen and background checks

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on leadership role in a construction environment and may include:

  • Frequent standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Use of hand tools, power tools, and trade-specific equipment
  • Occasional extended driving between job sites
  • Exposure to construction materials, equipment, and jobsite conditions
