Plumbing Project Engineer

A respected commercial plumbing contractor serving the Fort Worth, Texas market is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Plumbing Project Engineer to support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects. This role serves as a key link between project management, field operations, and administrative functions, helping ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality and operational objectives.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a dynamic construction environment where collaboration, communication, and attention to detail are essential to project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project coordination and administrative support throughout all phases of commercial plumbing construction projects.
  • Manage and track project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, permits, change orders, drawing updates, and project correspondence.
  • Assist with project scheduling efforts by monitoring milestones, deliverables, inspections, and critical deadlines.
  • Coordinate communication between Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor procurement activities, material deliveries, equipment requirements, and supplier schedules to support uninterrupted project operations.
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with company procedures.
  • Support purchasing processes by coordinating with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Perform periodic jobsite visits to verify project progress, collect field information, and assist with project coordination efforts.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, project reports, progress updates, and other administrative documentation as required.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including punch-list tracking, turnover documentation, warranty records, and final project deliverables.
  • Maintain and update project data within Procore, ShareFile, Egnyte, and other project management systems.
  • Identify schedule concerns, coordination conflicts, and operational challenges while providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Support Project Managers and field leadership teams by tracking action items and ensuring project tasks remain on schedule.

QualificationsTechnical Knowledge & Experience

  • Understanding of construction project administration, document control procedures, and project coordination processes.
  • Experience within commercial plumbing, mechanical contracting, MEP construction, or related commercial construction environments preferred.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, scheduling practices, procurement processes, and construction workflows.
  • Experience with project management and document control software platforms is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and related applications.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.

  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Education & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting commercial construction projects, plumbing operations, project engineering, or project management functions is advantageous.
  • Experience working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and construction field teams is highly valued.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are beneficial but not required.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
