We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Plumbing Estimator / Project Manager to join our team.
This role is responsible for estimating commercial plumbing projects and managing awarded jobs from pre-construction through closeout, including coordinating field operations, preparing and managing submittals, maintaining budgets and schedules, and ensuring successful project execution.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, construction processes, estimating software, submittal processes, subcontractor/vendor coordination, and project management best practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating Duties
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial plumbing projects
- Perform detailed material takeoffs and labor calculations
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Develop detailed bid proposals and scope clarifications
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information
Project Management Duties
- Manage multiple commercial plumbing projects simultaneously
- Coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, and field personnel
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans
- Prepare, review, submit, and track plumbing submittals, product data, shop drawings, and RFIs to ensure timely approvals
- Coordinate approved submittals with vendors, suppliers, and field teams for procurement and installation
- Track project costs, labor productivity, and change orders
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Conduct project meetings and maintain project documentation
- Provide technical and logistical support to field teams
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and policies
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, as-builts, O&M manuals, and final documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating and/or project management
- Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Experience preparing and managing submittals, RFIs, and closeout documentation
- Experience with estimating and project management software
- FastPIPE experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of local plumbing codes and regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and projects
