PM Banquet Cook- The Vanguard Hotel

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Banquet Cook to join our culinary team at The Vanguard Hotel in Ann Arbor, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Banquet Cook, you will play a vital role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests through the preparation of high-quality meals for events and functions.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu plans.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal preparation and presentation.
• Assist in menu planning, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
• Handle food items safely and efficiently, adhering to all food handling guidelines.
• Utilize knife skills for meal preparation, ensuring precision and quality in all dishes.
• Participate in catering events, providing excellent food service to guests.
• Support the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs as required.
• Ensure that kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the culinary field, particularly in restaurant or fine dining settings.
• Familiarity with food service operations, including catering and banquet services.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
• Excellent cooking skills with a focus on meal preparation and presentation.
• Previous experience as a dietary aide or within a dietary department is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with others in the kitchen.
