Some responsibilities may be completed remotely, including graphic design, editing, content planning, social media preparation, content planning and administrative tasks. Studio recording days and production shoots will require in-person availability.

Position Overview

The Welfare Check Podcast is seeking a creative, reliable, and adaptable Production Assistant to assist with podcast production, content creation, studio operations, and brand execution. This role is ideal for someone passionate about media, storytelling, digital culture, and creative production who wants hands-on experience helping build a fast-growing personality-driven podcast brand.

Production & Studio Support

• Assist with podcast setup and breakdown before and after recordings
• Operate and monitor cameras, lighting, and audio equipment during shoots
• Assist with camera framing, battery swaps, memory card management, and troubleshooting
• Help maintain studio cleanliness, organization, and visual presentation
• Monitor recording quality and flag technical issues when necessary

Videography & Content Capture

• Capture behind-the-scenes footage, social clips, and promotional content
• Assist with multi-camera podcast recording setups
• Record vertical content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
• Help identify viral or engaging moments during recording sessions
• Assist with basic video editing and clip preparation

Graphic Design & Branding

• Create social media graphics, thumbnails, promotional flyers, and digital assets
• Assist with podcast branding visuals, merchandise concepts, and creative campaigns
• Maintain visual consistency across social media platforms and brand materials
• Help brainstorm creative content ideas aligned with The Welfare Check Podcast aesthetic

Social Media & Content Support

• Assist with posting content and organizing media files
• Help manage content calendars and episode rollout preparation
• Create engaging behind-the-scenes and lifestyle content
• Assist with audience engagement and creative marketing ideas

Qualifications

• Interest in podcasting, media production, content creation, or digital storytelling
• Familiarity with cameras, lighting, microphones, or editing software preferred
• Basic experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, or similar programs preferred
• Strong creativity and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt and problem-solve independently
