- Job Summary We are seeking a committed and reliable Podiatric Assistant to support our podiatrists at various skilled nursing facilities. This is a hands-on, mobile position, perfect for someone who enjoys a dynamic work environment and has a heart for geriatric patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel & Setup: Drive to scheduled nursing facilities daily. Assist the doctor in setting up and breaking down mobile clinic equipment.
- Patient Care: Transport patients to the treatment area, prepare patients for treatment (removing socks/shoes), and provide compassionate assistance to elderly patients.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist the Podiatrist during examinations and procedures.
- Administrative: Assist with charting/scribing notes, managing patient lists, and coordinating with facility nursing staff.
- Sanitization: Maintain infection control standards and sterilize instruments as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Medical Experience: Previous experience in the medical field (Medical Assistant, CNA, or similar) is preferred, but we are willing to train the right dedicated individual.
- Transportation: Strict Requirement: You must have a valid driver’s license, a dependable vehicle, and current auto insurance. You will be traveling to different locations daily.
- Schedule: Must be an early riser. Work usually starts early in the morning (usually 6:00 AM]) to align with facility schedules.
- Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
- Soft Skills: Must be reliable, punctual, and have a patient, empathetic demeanor suitable for working with nursing home residents.
