Podiatry Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing care in our outpatient podiatry clinics, assisting with patient care, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. Previous medical experience is preferred but training on the job will be provided. Duties

• Assist podiatrists with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms.
• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and compliance.
• Support with diagnostic procedures including X-ray setup and basic imaging techniques.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately and efficiently.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and assist with medication documentation.
• Assist during minor procedures and assist with sterilization of instruments.
• Support patient education on foot care, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions.
• Perform ICD coding for billing purposes and ensure proper documentation of diagnoses.
• Maintain clinical supplies and ensure the cleanliness of treatment areas.
• Provide excellent patient service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.

Experience

• Having a positive attitude and willingness to work well with others is always the most important asset.
• Prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics preferred.
• Familiarity with medical administrative support roles including intake procedures and EHR systems management.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration is required.
• Experience with X-ray procedures is advantageous.
