Pole Erection Unit (PEU) Operator - HGV

G T Williams Ltd is a long-established family-owned Engineering company specialising in utilities and now rapidly expanding within the telecommunication industry.

We are currently looking to recruit PEU Operators who are experienced in operating HIAB Cranes. Working in a team of two or three (depending on your current level of skills) you will be working on Openreach telecoms work in the Mid-Wales area.

For the more unexperienced candidate we offer further training and practical experience for Poling Operations however you MUST hold a HGV licence and have no more than 3 points on your licence.

As a fully experienced member of the poling team, you will eventually be required to:

· Work within the Openreach overhead and underground network.

· Install and remove poles, including the dressing of new poles.

· Operate Pole Erection Unit (PEU’s) in line with H&S legislation.

· Work in urban and agricultural environments.

· Have a good understanding of working plant and machinery.

· Willing to Operate MEWP and work at heights on telegraph poles.

· The ability to operate a tablet and/or smart phone is desirable.

· Undertaking works in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, company and client Health and Safety standards.

Your hourly pay will be based upon the following assessment criteria:

• Full Cat C driving licence.
• Minimum LGV Class 2 Driving Category.
• HIAB Crane Operating skills.
• Driver qualification card having completed 35 hours CPC or initial CPC.
• NRSWA Street-works qualifications at operative level.
• IPAF 1(b)

Please note we will need to complete DBS and Driving Licence checks.
