JOB
The purpose of this position is purchase police department equipment and supplies for the City of Spartanburg and is responsible for purchasing activities and payment processing.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists with ordering vehicles, uniforms and supplies for the police department.Collects, assembles, reviews and approves all invoices for payment; receives goods and services into inventory system. Maintains database for tracking, analyzes and researches discrepancies.Returns damages or incorrect items and solicits written quotes.Researches and determines best value for equipment, parts and supplies purchased for the police department.Researches and orders new and existing stock for the police department.Assigns code numbers and tracks inventory; analyzes and reconciles
inventories.Reviews and analyzes blanket purchase agreements; generates new agreements as required. Collaborates with staff or vendors for equipment or supplies needed.Ensures purchasing activities compliance with local, state, and federal procurement laws and regulations.Reconciles police department expenses.Coordinates and approves new purchases, purchase requisitions and invoices. Analyzes information, updates, and creates spreadsheets for departments.Prepares various files, records, and documents.Receives and handles complaints from members of the public, providing assistance, information, and solutions as needed. Performs related work as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Pay depending on experience and qualifications. Starting salary is $44,012.80.BENEFITS INCLUDE: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life benefits are through the SC State Health Plan and access to free onsite health clinic. Retirement through the SC State Retirement System (Employee contributes 9%, and the City contributes 18.56%).
