• Support media relations efforts by preparing media kits, pitching stories, and maintaining contact lists
• Help organize public speaking engagements, community events, and outreach initiatives
• Monitor news coverage and social media platforms to track public sentiment and engagement trends
• Proofread and edit communication materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and professionalism
• Collaborate with team members on marketing campaigns aimed at increasing visibility and engagement across various channels

Experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging messages
• Experience or coursework in journalism, public relations, or political science is preferred
• Familiarity with social media management tools and media outreach strategies
• Ability to conduct detailed research using reputable sources
• Knowledge of AP style for writing is highly desirable
• Excellent proofreading skills with keen attention to detail
• Prior experience in public speaking or community outreach is a plus
