Position Summary

The Laurel is offering an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about providing world-class customer service. The successful candidate must possess excellent service and communication skills with a flawless attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work independently. The Pool Attendant is responsible for the overall maintenance of the on-site pool. It is a part-time, seasonal position, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:30am-6pm now to September.

Primary Responsibilities

• Setting up or break down of umbrellas, loungers, and other pool furniture
• Ensuring the restrooms are clean and have soap/bath tissue and paper towels
• Ensuring that the pool deck is clean
• Reporting any safety hazards that may exist or develop
• Reporting any lighting issues that may exist
• Report any damage to the pool and related facilities
• Report residents/guests that are not following the posted rules and pool addenda
• Checking the emergency phone at each shift to ensure it’s in working order/charged
• Collecting and taking the trash out
• Checking and recording pool chemicals/PH level and temperature of the water
• Reporting any damage or other incidents to the office
• Managing the pool cleaning schedule and performing inspections at each shift
• Enforcing safety protocols as set out by management

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

• 2+ years of practical experience preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with co-workers, residents, and vendors
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the pool area
• Must be reliable and present a positive, professional image
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.
• Ability to lift/move 25 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. occasionally

Work Conditions

• Indoor, outdoors, and exposed to weather
• Very hot temperatures (above 90 F degrees)
• Spend time standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Lifting over 50+ lbs.
• Possible exposure to changing weather conditions and chemical fumes
• Possible exposure to hazardous conditions
