Join Our Leadership Team at The Club at Old Hawthorne as Pool Manager!

Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a prestigious private country club setting? The Club at Old Hawthorne is seeking a professional, organized, and service-driven Pool Manager to oversee all pool operations during the season. This leadership role is responsible for supervising pool staff, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and ensuring our members and guests receive the exceptional experience expected at a premier private club.

The Pool Manager will oversee all poolside positions including bartenders, servers, hosts/hostesses, and lifeguards while coordinating daily operations, staffing, and safety procedures.

While this role is considered seasonal, it is our hope that pool managers would consider staying on year round.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Leadership: Supervise, train, and support all pool staff including bartenders, servers, hosts/hostesses, lifeguards, and swim instructors.
  • Scheduling & Staffing: Create weekly schedules, manage shift coverage, and ensure proper staffing levels for all pool operations.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure all aquatic safety rules are followed, verify lifeguard certifications, and enforce all club and facility policies.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee opening and closing procedures, monitor pool conditions, and ensure all areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Member Experience: Provide a visible leadership presence, assist members and guests as needed, and ensure a high level of hospitality at all times.
  • Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between pool staff, club management, and members regarding pool operations, events, and concerns.
  • Event Support: Coordinate staffing and setup for pool events, swim lessons, and special club functions.
  • Compliance: Maintain all required reports, incident logs, and certifications in accordance with club policies and local regulations.

Required / Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in aquatics, hospitality, recreation, or club operations preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Lifeguard certification required (Club will reimburse)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in summer conditions.
  • Must be legal age to pour alcohol
