Job Title: Port Operations In-Charge

Location: KANDLA PORT / Kandla , Gandhidham

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reporting To: AGM, DGM AND HOD

Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Port Operations In-Charge to oversee daily port activities, ensuring seamless coordination between vessel operations, cargo handling, surveyor protocols and compliance. The ideal candidate will be methodical, diplomatic, and deeply familiar with marine logistics, capable of enforcing operational boundaries while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight
  • Supervise vessel berthing, cargo discharge/loading, and turnaround activities.
  • Coordinate with terminal staff, surveyors, stevedores, and port authorities to ensure timely execution of operations.
  • Monitor and enforce safety, security, and environmental protocols across port operations.
  • Recruitment of port staff/ surveyors whenever required.
  • Updating and allotting duties, maintaining roster/ attendance of staff daily and updating in WhatsApp groups.
  • Client & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, shipping lines, and agents during port calls.
  • Communicate operational constraints, delays, and compliance requirements with clarity and diplomacy.
  • Resolve disputes and operational bottlenecks while protecting company interests.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, cargo operations, and surveyor activities.
  • Draft incident reports, operational summaries, and penalty notices when required.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports in WhatsApp, Excel, or dashboard formats as per client and internal standards.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Enforce company protocols related to port property, surveyor conduct, and operational boundaries.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to cargo damage, delays, or non-compliance.
  • Support internal audits and contribute to the development of penalty frameworks and SOPs.

Details

Experience

5+ years in port operations, terminal management, or marine logistics

Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Excel, WhatsApp reporting formats.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical thinking, diplomatic communication, and ethical decision-making

Language

Fluent in English; regional language proficiency is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
